Ryders Sprint Photochromic Sunglasses are sport specific sunglasses that have lenses that automatically adjust to the light conditions. The photochromic lenses contain millions of molecules that are transparent in the absence of UV light. When these molecules are exposed to UV rays, as in direct sunlight, they undergo a chemical process that changes their shape. The new molecular structure absorbs some of the visible light, causing the lenses to darken. The number of molecules that change shape increases as the UV rays grow in intensity, therefore, the brighter the sunlight, the darker the lenses. These lenses are ideal for prolonged events where eye protection is needed, but intensity of the sunlight will change due to weather conditions or sun position (triathlons). These are not your grandfather's sunglasses!
